Living The Glamorous Life

Hi, my name is Ingrid Bohannon and I am a Glamour Girl; a put-your-best-foot-forward kind of girl, a shamelessly hopeful romantic; silly and playful at times, always doing what I can to keep happy, and that always involves a sense of glamour.

Glamour doesn’t just apply to how I present myself outwardly, it’s a lifestyle for me. What does that mean? Glamour is defined as the attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things seem appealing, fascinating, alluring or special, especially by a combination of charm and good looks; excitement, adventure, and unusual activity; magic or enchantment. So when I say I live glamorously, that means I apply an aspect of what this word denotes to every facet of this thing called life, from the way I approach going to work every day, to how I decorate and keep my home, how I entertain, and even how I reconcile times of sadness and dejection. Being glamorous is more than just make-up and hair and a pretty outfit for me, with very little to do with how much money I have, and everything to do with who I am and being true to that. Living glamorously is all about living life with your own personal touch of flair.

Little things for me like… keeping my car immaculately clean and neat, inside and out, because I feel like I’m getting in a new ride every time I get in it; always, and only, eating off china and drinking out of crystal glasses at home, whether alone or with company makes me feel “Princessy”; always adding some signature element to any gift I give, paying attention to every detail when entertaining, buying myself flowers whenever possible, re-purposeful decorating (I will spray paint anything), keeping my home spotless because it makes me feel like I’m living in a palace and what’s more glamorous than that? And as for my outward adornment, I’m in love with make-up, and nail polish, and high heels and fragrance, YES!!! A Girlie-Girl am I; planning my wardrobe at the beginning of the week and getting up early enough to do proper hair and make-up every day because I feel pulled together, which in turn makes me feel glamorous every single day. In times of despair I’m even committed to going through trials in the best possible spirit given the circumstances, in my own “getting to happy”, “one day” kind of way. I talked about my “one day” self-encouragement here.

Ultimately, living glamorously is putting your personal stamp on everything you do. So back to the definition of glamour… what makes that person “seem” so appealing? It’s their consistent display of walking in the comfortability of their own truth of who they are. Be your own kind of Glamorous!
