Mirror Mirror on the Wall

The guy that has handled all my moves for the last few years commented once that he’d wrapped some 39 mirrors in my home, and he wasn’t finished yet! Some would assume that so many mirrors were a sign of ego and vanity. But they’re not. I decorate with mirrors solely for their decor uses; for making a room look larger and/or taller. Mirrors make any room more glamorous. Several taller mirrors paired together give a room drama and grandness. And mirrors simply add elegance to any room.

I always change out the single, large, builder grade mirrors in the bathrooms for more stylish, separate ones. Here are pics from the master bathroom and the guest bathroom at The Queen’s Quarters (my current home), and the master bath from two houses ago.

And what’s a glamorous walk-in closet without a full-size mirror to make sure everything is in place before you walk out the door?

It was a bit more costly, but I was adamant about having the boutique feel of the mirror-backed, glass shelving to this unit in my master closet. You can check out the master closet post HERE.

Decorating my garages has always been my jam. For my current garage I lined the walls with $6 over-the-door mirrors from Walmart to glam up the space where my car would live. You can read about the process HERE.

Flanking mirrors over night stands or tables on each side of the bed, window or tv works for me because one, I’m big on symmetry in a room, and two, it adds drama… decor drama… the only kind of drama I want in my life πŸ™‚

Lining a wall with mirrors is also one of my favorites because again, it adds drama, and also elegance. And if you’ve followed my decor blogs for any length of time, you know I love a good swag or drape of fabric. I probably will do a blog post on the uses of fabric in decor soon. πŸ™‚ Here are example pics from my current and previous homes.
