For years now, people have stopped me to tell me “you’ve got great style.” I just say “thank you”, never really considering what it actually means. But I take it as a huge compliment because what they’re actually saying is “I like the way you’ve put yourself together,” meaning everything you’ve done before walking out the door to present yourself that day was appealing to someone. But the possibility of a compliment has never been the motivator for me. I believe we should always consider how we will “show up,” evidenced by how we’ve put ourselves together before heading out. So What exactly is style?
Style is a distinctive appearance, typically determined by a set of personal principles, or according to which something is designed… OR… it’s what the appearance of a specific aspect of your life says about you; your fashion, your home, your manner. For me, there are a few things I’m “known” for; my love for bows, my signature fragrance, my preference for high heels, personalized note cards, fresh florals and makeup.
How Did WE GEt Here?
